Welcome to my blog! I'd love to connect and chat about a future session! In the mean time, take a look around the blog! Don't forget to stop and say Hello!
Fall is one of my favorite times of the year! The air turns crisp, the leaves change color, and suddenly everything smells like apples, cinnamon, and pumpkins. 🎃
Every October, I make it a point to slow down and soak in the season. For my family, that means cozy sweaters, apple cider, and one of our favorite local traditions — visiting the pumpkin patches near Mansfield, Ohio.
If you’re looking for fun weekend plans, a great spot for family photos, or just an excuse to grab a pumpkin donut (or three), here are three of my favorite local farms that make fall in North Central Ohio feel extra special.
📍 Location: 4000 Ramseyer Lane, Wooster, OH
If you’ve lived anywhere near Mansfield for long, you’ve probably heard of Ramseyer Farm. It’s one of those places that has everything — pumpkin picking, corn mazes, slides, animals, hayrides, and the kind of old-fashioned fun that both kids and adults love.
And when I say everything, I mean everything! They offer 77 different activities for the whole family. My personal favorites are the corn maze, the hayrides, and, of course, the food… because who doesn’t love a good farm snack? 😄
The bright pops of orange pumpkins spread across the fields make the perfect backdrop for fall photos. The farm also has a “U-Pick” section where you can choose your own pumpkins and plenty of activities to fill an entire day.
As a photographer, I adore Ramseyer Farm’s golden-hour light. Late afternoon, when the sun dips low over the corn maze, is absolutely magical. The warm glow, kids’ laughter, and rows of pumpkins create memories that feel straight out of a storybook.
Hours and Admission (2025):
They’re open Wednesday through Sunday. Admission ranges from $15–$21 per person (ages 3–64) depending on whether you visit on a weekday or weekend. Seniors enjoy a discounted rate of $11.
Photo Tip:
Visit about 1–2 hours before sunset for that dreamy, golden light. Bring a cozy blanket and wear fall tones like cream, mustard, or rust — the scenery will do the rest.
📍 Location: 1327 County Road 1475, Ashland, OH
Just a short drive from Mansfield, Honey Haven Farm is one of those charming, homegrown spots that feels welcoming the moment you arrive. It’s a little quieter than some of the bigger farms, which makes it perfect for families with younger kids or anyone who prefers a slower pace.
Honey Haven offers pumpkins, wagon rides, a petting zoo, and delicious baked goods that are worth the trip all by themselves — seriously, don’t skip the pumpkin rolls! Every corner of the farm feels like fall: rustic barns, hay bales, and rows of pumpkins in every shape and size.
What I love most about Honey Haven is the simplicity. You don’t need to rush from one activity to the next. It’s the kind of place where kids can wander, parents can relax, and you can just be together.
Parking and admittance are free, which makes this a great budget-friendly option. You simply pay for the activities and pumpkins you want. My favorite activities here are the corn maze and the horse-drawn carriage ride, which is only $2 per rider (ages 4 and up). Most of their events run on Saturdays and Sundays only, but they do offer other times to pick pumpkins!
Photo Tip:
Honey Haven’s pumpkin displays are adorable! Capture your kids among the bright pumpkins in full sunlight, or move into the shaded barn area for a softer, golden glow.
📍 Location: 2920 State Route 203, Radnor, OH
A little farther from Mansfield (about an hour’s drive), Lehner’s Pumpkin Farm in Radnor is 100% worth the road trip. This family-run farm has been a fall favorite for generations, and you can feel the love and care that goes into every detail.
Lehner’s has one of the largest pumpkin selections I’ve ever seen — from tiny gourds perfect for little hands to massive carving pumpkins. Beyond the pumpkins, you’ll find slides, bounce pads, barrel rides, a corn maze, and even a pumpkin cannon!
If you plan to stay a while, pack a picnic or enjoy their farm-fresh treats. And if you’re anything like me, you’ll probably go home with more pumpkins than you meant to (it’s impossible not to!).
Admission:
Tickets range from $5–$13, depending on the day, age, or veteran status. They also offer family passes, which are a great deal if you plan to make a day of it.
Even though Lehner’s has fewer attractions than Ramseyer, it’s still an amazing addition to your list of pumpkin patches near Mansfield, Ohio.
Photo Tip:
Lehner’s wide-open fields are stunning in the late afternoon light. Capture candid moments — kids running, families laughing — for authentic, joy-filled photos.
There’s something magical about the simplicity of a pumpkin patch. No screens, no distractions — just time together outdoors. Watching your kids pick out “their” pumpkin, laughing as they try to lift one that’s way too big, and sipping hot cider with cold fingers… those are the moments that stick with you.
As a photographer, these are my favorite memories to capture. The real smiles, windblown hair, and tiny hands clutching pumpkins almost as big as they are — those are the stories that tell your family’s heart.
If you’re planning a trip to one of these farms, it’s the perfect chance for updated family photos! Fall colors, warm light, and genuine laughter make for timeless portraits.
You don’t need fancy outfits — just cozy, coordinated colors that feel like you. Think knits, denim, and neutrals. Bring a blanket, a few pumpkins, and I’ll handle the rest.
