Welcome to my blog! I'd love to connect and chat about a future session! In the mean time, take a look around the blog! Don't forget to stop and say Hello!
Formally known as the Little Buckeye Museum! My kids are getting a little older so we haven’t frequented this since they changed the name or moved locations, but I can say we have always loved this museum!
Hours are from 10-4pm, Tuesday- Sunday through March 31st. Hours change to Tuesday-Saturday after that. Memberships are available to purchase as well as daily passes. If you plan on going there more than once, a membership will likely save you some money! Another plus? It gets you in at 1/2 the price at other museums across the country! It’s best suited for ages 2-10, but obviously may be fun for younger or older as well!
There are a ton of stations for your kids to use their imagination play, such as grocery store, McDonalds, construction exhibit, Salon, Dentist, and even digging up dinosaurs! You can check out all the stations on their website! They are still adding on and working on two new rooms at the time of this blog post. I have no doubt they will be adding in some amazing things. My kids loved the grocery store, trains, water table, and Mcdonald’s exhibit the most!
The second of my, places to go with kids, blog post, is another favorite of my kids! The carrousel. Who doesn’t love a fun ride on a pretty painted horse?
This is a great activity for a quick and easy boredom buster to break up your day! Rides are very reasonably priced, and you can enjoy one ride or many! That is, if your stomach can take it! I know some of you get me on that! Current hours are 11-5 through fall and winter, Thursday-Sunday.
The story of the carrousel is pretty darn cool! The first of it’s kind since 1930 and it opened to the public in 1991! As well as the obvious riding of the carrousel, you can also host birthday parties, or do a little shopping in their unique gift shop!
Whatever you choose, I know your kids will have a great time, not only riding, but spending time with you!
I mean this one is kind of a obvious. This is a great way for your kids to wear themselves out. Lots of running and jumping, or even a good game of dodge ball. I even enjoy bouncing around here. Although don’t ask me about the time I thought I was young enough to do a round off still. I’m pretty sure I looked like an idiot. Thankfully it wasn’t crowded.
I recommend visiting their website prior to going to sign any waivers. It will save you some time when checking in. It’s also best to order your passes online to make sure there is room for you! I have found the best time to go was weekday afternoons before the kids got out of school. If you have littles that aren’t in school, it is the perfect time for them to get some moving in without the worry of older kids!
I will admit, I have never been here before, but it looks like a great place for those kids who are in LOVE with anything firetruck! It’s open by appointment only during the winter but it is FREE!
Check out actual old firetrucks, as well as read up about the interesting history of Mansfield! The google reviews are fantastic, with one saying that they have a smoke simulator room to teach kids what to do if they are ever in that situation.
If you need to get out of those house, give them a call and schedule an appointment. The reviews are great and even if it’s not your thing, it doesn’t cost anything. Sounds like the people that run it are wonderful and kind at sharing!
Lastly, in my places to go with kids list, is Splash Harbor! Another one I have not gone to yet, but have wanted to for years! I don’t know why I haven’t done it yet! It’s close by and it’s something to do on a cold yucky day.
It is a hotel but you can buy day passes for only 13.95 plus tax! Before you head out that way, make sure you call in the morning to see if they have availability that day. The day passes can be used from 12-6 which is plenty of time to wear those kiddos out!
Only negative I could find, is that there is no lifeguards on duty, so be vigilant and stay with your kids. Worried about your kids in the water? Flotation devices are available at the front desk or you may bring your own!
I’ve been photographing families and children since 2011 and I adore photographing families happy and loving on each other! I’d love to chat more about a session! Contact me HERE.
